Silence means nothing if you don’t even try.

"Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, for the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." ~Matthew 7:7-8

I am in awe of God’s faithfulness! Once again, the thoughts in my mind are running rampant with stories to share this week. This past Wednesday, I sat alone with God and asked for discernment, I asked for a deeper connection, and I practically begged that my eyes would be opened for what he needed me to see and my heart be willing to accept it.  Although I pray for these regularly, I felt the need to seek deeper and I strongly needed to believe that my sight would no longer be blurred.

God is so good.  Last night when driving home from ministry in our tuk-tuk, God answered my prayer. We turned down the street where our home is, as we always do, and usually to the left we see a decent amount of makeshift salons, where there are quite a few girls primping themselves; doing their hair, putting on tons of makeup, wearing very provocative clothing and very high heels. We see this everyday; I naturally assumed they were getting ready for the night, getting ready to go to ‘work’. After examining to the left of me, my head turned to the right and my jaw dropped. To the right of us, I saw a restaurant with chairs lined out in front of it. There had to be a total of 20 chairs, 10 on each side, and in the chairs, sat young women.  These girls were sitting outside of this brothel/restaurant, just waiting. Waiting to be picked. Waiting to be bought.

My heart felt heavy. I honestly didn’t know what to think or what to say.  I brought the situation up with my teammates, and apparently I was the only one that had yet to witness it. They had seen it before, numerous times. It was invisible to me. I kid you not, I have looked to the left and the right of that street, and not once had I seen what I saw last night. For some reason, God was shielding me of that. For some reason, I wasn’t ready to see it before then. I was blown away that I was the only one who saw the girls lined up out there, for the first time, and somehow, no one on the team ever brought what they saw to my attention.

Like I said, the night before I prayed and begged God for something big to happen. I prayed that my eyes would be open for what He wanted me to see.  He gave it to me—in a huge way.  Last night God prepared my heart, He had been preparing my heart. He literally took the veil off of my eyes to see what was CLEARLY in front of me.

We recently moved into a new home, and it is so very clear that God has this team positioned exactly where we need to be; we are literally in the center of brothels. I didn’t realize it at first, but last night, God showed me a lot; He’s pretty wonderful in that way.   This is what we asked for and He gave it to us.
